Expert Witness

My Name is Sue Taylor and I have acted as an Expert Witness for over 15 years.  My particular area of expertise is insurance broking and claims, although I originally trained as an underwrited in the City in the 1980's.  My insurance knowledge is cross class, but with a particular emphasis on commercial property and business interruption lines of business.  I have extensive experience in respect of national and global placements including the involvement of captives, therefore covering both insurance and reinsurance.  My claims knowledge is equally extensive particularly in respect of major and complex losses.

I have held senior positions in major brokers and was also until a few years ago a Lloyds Pass Holder.  I am now an independent consultant operating under Sue Taylor Ltd, still active in the market in a variety of roles.

I am a well known author and contributor to numerous technical publications as well as a public speaker and trainer of industry personnel worldwide.

In respect of my professional insurance qualifications, I am an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute and also as a Chartered Insurance Practitioner and have an Advanced Diploma from the Chartered Institute of Loss Adjusters.  In addition, in respect of Expert Witness activities I hold a Cardiff University Bond Solon Expert Witness Certificate.

My practical experience in respect of Expert Witness activities includes initial reviews, report writing in accordance with court procedure rules, attending joint expert meetings and writing joint expert statements alongside supplemental reports. Giving evidence in court.
